During the November 2023 Boattalk a listener asked about “Ghost Ships.” Jon mentioned reports of one being seen occasionally off Portland. He may give more information on that in the next show. Alan immediately thought of the practice of getting rid of boats at the end of their lives. They were stripped of anything useful and when the wind and tides were right, they were towed out to sea, its scuppers opened, and let go. This picture may be one of those. How I got the picture is another story. A.S.
